Parfleche-style purse by Todd Lonedog Bordeaux, Lakota
This purse is a contemporary rendition of the traditional Plains parfleche. The antler handle fits beautifully in the hand, balancing the purse very nicely. Details such as beaded edge, pipestone inlay in the handle, burned edges of painted designs, and antler feet (last picture) are wonderful features.
Materials: deerskin, deer antler, abalone shell, acrylic paint, wood (stiffener in base), pipestone, glass beads.
