Beaded velvet purse by Niio Perkins, Mohawk

Niio Perkins, award-winning Mohawk beadworker, is among the finest artists working in the Iroquois raised bead style. In this style, multiple layers of beads add depth to the designs. Here she has created a dark maroon heart-shaped velvet purse with floral designs, lined with a light-colored floral fabric.

Materials: velvet, delica beads, swarovski crystal beads, cowry shells.

Purse is 5 1/4" w x 4 1/2" h; 9 1/2" h including strap and shells.
