Woman in amauti by Mosesie Aipellee, Inuit (Iqaluit)

We were thrilled to find this carving of a woman in a traditional parka (amauti), because it is so reminiscent of sculptures from the 1950's and 1960's. The inset, light colored face is a nice touch of nostalgia.

The shape of the sculpture is attractive from all angles, primarily because of the shape of the amauti.
