Beluga composition by OtterBear Studio, Northwest Coast
Augustus, not born native, was adopted by the Kwakiutl and Cherokee tribes when he married Nakwesee.
This sculpture contains two belugas: an adult, and a child. Curled around each other, they form a delightful composition. The small, inlaid eyes and the folds around the neck are details that add great character to the two animals.
Carved from moose antler; background of caribou antler; wood base
13 1/4" h x 15 1/2" w x 4" d, including base.
